This 6-week course is designed to follow the Introductory Hand Building Course! Students will have the chance to fine tune their skills and gain new ones as well. Projects will include designing and making a matching set of vessels; working with hard slabs to create geometric sculptures or boxes; and combining pinch and coil techniques to make some BIG pots! This course is ideal for artists and members who have completed an Intro Hand Building Course, in person at Costa Mesa Ceramics or another studio. Participants must be confident in their knowledge of the ceramics process and comfortable working independently in a ceramic studio setting. Skills learned can be practiced and applied to make additional projects, at home or with a membership at the Studio! 18+

Each student will receive:

• 12 hours of in-class instruction.

• a 25 pound bag of clay. The studio sells a variety of clay for students who wish to purchase more.

• six practice passes to use outside of class time; Tuesdays to Sundays 12-5:30pm; totaling 33 hours of additional practice time.

Cancellation Policy: (This all applies even in a COVID related situation so please only purchase a class with us if you are aware that we are unable to make any exceptions to this policy beyond the parameters listed below. This includes the 7 day notification policy in order to be able to reschedule.) All sales are final; we do not grant refunds. Classes or workshops can only be exchanged for credit towards another class or workshop given it is done at least one week (7 days) prior to the start date of said class or workshop. Cancelations made within 7 days of the start date are not granted a credit. No exceptions. This also applies to canceled private classes. Credit must be put towards a class or workshop within 6 months after purchase. After 6 months all credit is forfeited.
